Judd Nelson

August 14, 2008 By Jamie 9 Comments

Judd Nelson was the rebel, Bender, in The Breakfast Club. This was the movie that really launched him into the big time and he followed up with St Elmo’s Fire and Transformers. Although his body of work since has been all about B movies, he will always be fondly remembered as the guy that stole Claire’s heart in The Breakfast Club.

Judd Nelson Biography
Judd Asher Nelson was born on 28th November 1959 in Portland, Maine to Jewish American parents. He attended St Paul’s School in New Hampshire, then went to college in Pennsylvania.

Judd was hugely popular in the 80’s with roles in such box office success stories as The Breakfast Club and St Elmo’s Fire. Judd also provided the voice of Hot Rod in Transformers The Movie.

Nelson’s career failed to take off as excpected after these successes and he starred in a fair few flops during the late 80’s and early 90’s, his only real hit being New Jack City.

Suddenly Susan
In 1996, Judd Nelson was cast as Jack Richmond in the hit sitcom, Suddenly Susan. Jack was Susan’s boss and turns out to be the brother of the man Susan deserted on her wedding day.

One of the show’s lead actors, David Strickland, comitted suicide on March 22nd, 1999. Judd was close friends with David anddidn’t return for the following season after his death.

Stage work and current roles
In 2001, Judd played the Sheriff in Jay andSilent Bob Strike Back. Kevin Smith has been a fan of Judd ever since his Brat Pack days.

Nelson currently does various stage roles and recently appeared on the hit TV show, CSI.

Judd Nelson Quotes

“I think that there’s room for everyone. I don’t think that if one person succeeds then another must fail. That’s lunacy. I’m not sure what the reasons are for my philosophy, maybe it’s the fact that if there are ten people doing the same job, we all know how we feel and what our high points and low points are.”

I hope to meet my nemesis the one who has caused me so much hell through my life I just want him torealize the life of a man who has really lived it hard and appreciate what has been given him but I say this with no animosity because of the path I was given the hardships have made me the man that they write movies about. Hahahaahaha I leave with my words a small man who takes large steps
